Mr. Gerstenblatt received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1973, with honors, and his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in 1977, with distinction.  He has extensive experience in the handling of major defense litigation.  He has directed and participated in litigation arising out of wrongful death, coverage issues, and personal injury.  Mr. Gerstenblatt holds membership in both the American Bar Association, and Rhode Island Bar Association and is a founding member and current board member of the Defense Counsel of Rhode Island.  He is also a member of Defense Research Institute.  He is admitted to practice before all Rhode Island Courts and the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island.  From 1994 to 2019, Mr. Gerstenblatt served as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of Warwick.  Mr. Gerstenblatt has been certified as a mediator by the Community Mediation Center of Rhode Island and actively serves as an arbitrator and mediator for insurance carriers and private parties.  Attorney Gerstenblatt has received the Martindale-Hubbell legal ability rating of AV (signifying "very high to preeminent"), the highest rating available.
